WHAREPUHUNGA PREPARES ENTHUSIASTIC MEETING A meeting promote an E.P.S. in the district was held in the Wharepuhunga Hall on Saturday afternoon. There was a very large attendance, practically the whole district being represented, and a keen interest was shown. The chair was taken by Mr E. S. Watson, who apologised for the absence, through illness, of Mr W. (“Dinah”) Thomson, one of the local representatives on the Otorohanga County Council. Mr Angus Jamieson, the other local representative on the Otorohanga County Council, gave a general description of what was necessary for the proper organisation of the scheme. Tbe following officers were elected: Mr E. S. Watson: Deputy-Warden.

Mrs Wotton: Secretary. Hon. John Duncan, M.L.C., and Messrs W. J. Reid, K. Knowles and T. Ashby: Sub-Wardens. Mr R. Pacey: Supply.
