KILLED IN ACTION SERGEANT - OBSERVER WOULDES > Advice that their son, SergeantObserver Noel Francis Wouldes, was killed on air operations, and not, as previously reported, as the result of an aircraft accident, has been received from the British Air Ministry by Mr and Mrs F. Wouldes, of Ohaupo. AIRCRAFTSMAN F. F. EDWARDS Advice has been received in Cambridge that Aircraftsman Frank Frederick Edwards, of the Royql New Zealand Air Force, has been killed in action. He was a son of Mr and Mrs F. W. Edwards, of Cambridge, was well-known throughout the district, where he was widely popular with all sections of the community. He received his education at the Cambridge District High School and later attended the Hamilton Technical. School. On leaving school he joined the staff of Messrs Wilkinson and Co., Ltd., with whom he served his apprenticeship as a motor mechanic, and continued in their employment until he joined the Royal New Zealand Air Force just over two years ago. Aircraftsman Edwards was a prominent member of the Cambridge branch of the Manchester Unity Oddfellows’ Lodge, being a Past Grand Master, and one of the youngest members to go through the Lodge offices.
