COMMITTEE’S CARD EVENING The Te Awamutu Ladies’ Patriotic Committee inaugurated a series of fortnightly card evenings in the Town Hall on Saturday evening last, when the large number present spent a most enjoyable time. The bridge prize was won by Mrs H. C. Rainey, the five hundred by Mrs A. H. Roberts, and the competition by Mrs L. G. Armstrong. Among the ladies present, were: Mesdames Blackburn, L. G. Armstrong, Russell, Tucker, Friedlander, Boryer, J. Tolich, Shield, Campbell, G. E. Brown, H. E. Brown, Horan, H. C. Rainey, D. McArthur, J. Knight, A. H. Roberts, Owen, A. Gadsby, Burns, Botich, M. Tolich, Clements, O. O’Brien and G. Dennis; Misses Archibald, T. Jowsey, Weal, J. Cooper, K. Watson, Hawke, McLeod and Whitley; and Sister Hayward.
