VERSES
TRIUMPHANT Triumphant as the destiny they found Who died in Anzac Cove, in Flanders field; Who held Tobruk and, since they would not yield, Are sleeping now in far-off foreign ground. Be of good heart! They fought while they had breath, Nor faltered in the fiercest of the strife, But triumphant over Fear, and Love, and Life, And, thus, triumphant, triumphed over Death. —S.H- in the Melbourne Argus. FOR A WORLD RE-BORN Out of the grave a summons, Out of the tomb a voice: “0, children of men, tie the hour again Of earth’s primeval choice, Whether to drift supinely Where Chaos rides unfurled, Or gird your wills divinely To re-create the world. “ O, children of men, be noble, Let vour love in oceans pour, For the wounds of the world are many And the wounds of the world are sore.” (Poem thought to be one of Angela Morgan’s.—Editor New York Herald.)
