TE AWAMUTU BOROUGH COUNCIL IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Te Awamutu Borough Council proposes to raise a special loan under the provisions of “ The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.” The purpose for which the loan is required is for dedicating and constructing a new street from Alexandra Street west of the Railway Line to Tawhaio Street, including the purchase of land and erection of fencing. The sum proposed to be borrowed is £2300. The proposed security is a special rate of 3-16 d in the pound on the ratable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all ratable property in the Borough of Te Awamutu. The loan is to bft,repaid in 20 years with interest at £3 lbs Od per centum per annum. The loan, together with interest thereon, shall be repaid by equal aggregate annual or half-yearly instalments extending over a term of 20 years. OTOROHANGA COUNTY COUNCIL WHATIWHATIHOE' BRIDGE UNSAFE FOR HEAVY TRAFFIC PURSUANT to Resolutions passed by the above Council at a properly constituted meeting held on the 9th December, 1941: (a) No person being the owner, driver, or person in charge of any vehicle shall drive such vehicle upon or across or permit the same to be upon the said bridge if the weight of such vehicle together with the load it is carrying .exceeds 5i tons. (b) No person being the owner, driver, or person in charge of any vehicle shall drive such vehicle upon the said bridge while such bridge is occupied by another vehicle, if the weight of all vehicles on such bridge at one time, together with the loads they are carrying, exceeds 51 tons. (c) No person in charge of any loose horses or cattle shall permit more than 30 horses or 40 neat cattle of any age or 30 neat cattle of a greater age than 2 years to be upon the said bridge at one time. RESTRICTING SPEED “ That the Whatiwhatihoe Bridge on the Te Awamutu-Pirongia-Ngutu-nui Main Highway being unsafe for use by fast motor traffic, no person shall drive or take or permit to be driven or taken any heavy motor vehicle upon or over such bridge at a greater speed than 10 miles per hour during such period as the Council may indicate by notices placed at the approaches to the bridge that such bridge is ‘out of repair; speed not more than 10 miles per hour.’ ” Dated 13th January, 1942.
