MOBILISATION
NEW ZEALAND ARMED FORCES DEPARTURE FOR THE CAMP The largest mobilisation of members of the overseas Forces, Territorials and National Military Reserve ever undertaken in New Zealand is now in full swing. As elsewhere in the Dominion, troops have lately left Te Awamutu for i camps situated “somewhere in New Zealand”; in fact, many local ydungl ftnen have suddienly “disappeared” from scenes familiar only to re-appear “somewhere” else in khaki. On Saturday last the first batch of local Territorials departed; to-day, the members of the Territorial Field Ambulance entrained, and to-morrow the overseas men will go into camp. It is expected that individual mobilisation orders for the National Military Reserve will be issued within the next forty-eight hours. Like the men of Britain, who for many months have been standing guard against a German invasion, the New Zealand soldiers have gone right off the public map. All that can be said of their new army residences is that they are “somewhere in New Zealand.”
