Expressing concern at the spread of rabbits throughout the Te Kuiti district, a well-known farmer mentioned that on his property during the past two months he had shot no less than 40 rabbits, yet before coming into town he had seen another 10 rabbits in a bunch. “In my opinion we will be faced with a very real rabbit menace unless steps are taken to cope with the spread of these animals before they increase much further,” he said. “The increase is not confined to my district, but has been noted throughout the whole of this area.”
