DISTRICT CONTESTS. UPPER MANGAPIKO DRAINAGE BOARD. Polling for seven seats on the Upper Mangapiko Drainage Board was very heavy, especially in the morning, prior to the Home Guard parade. The booth was in the Roto-o-Rangi Hall, and seven members had to be elected. The only change in personnel was the election of Mr W. Gordon Parker, in place of Mr O. S. Shale. Details of the voting are as follows: Martin, R. A 69 Nolan, V. H 66 Ammon, S. A. 55 Parker, W. G. 54 Campin, H. W. 53 Baker, S. N. 52 Brown, D. 50 Shale, O. S 49 Harloek, S. J. 46 In connection with the Upper Mangapiko Drainage Board election it perhaps should be explained that candidates have the opportunity of appointing a scrutineer at the official re-count which takes place at the Board’s office on Wednesday next. The candidates themselves cannot be in attendance at the re-count. OTOROHANGA COUNTY. The election in the Otorohanga County for one seat on the Waikato Hospital Board find for the representation of the Honikiwi riding resulted as follows: — HOSPITAL BOARD. V. W. Simms 339 W. B. Bluek 242 Mr Bluck was the sitting member. HONIKIWI RIDING. H. C. Grierson 55 E. L. Strawbridge 47 Mr Grierson was the sitting member. KIHIKIHI TOWN BOARD. The polling for five members of the Kihikihi Town Board resulted as follows: McGhie, W. Q. 132 Glassey, E. 102 Marquis, J. A. 100 Maunder, A. 96 Robinson, R. P. 91 (Above elected.) Sapsford, H. F. W. 86 Alcock, T. 81 Passau, B 74 Oldham, J. H 74 Temple, S. E 26 KAWHIA. For the combined Counties of Kawhia and Raglan, the two retiring representatives on the Hospital Board were returned, namely Messrs H. Wilson and M. H. Beatson.
