HAMILTON STOCK SALE. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company Limited, report: Sheep: At Frankton Sale an extra large yarding of all classes of mutton including a big proportion of fa* ewes. Prime wethers met a ready sale, but ewe mutton was erratic with values generally slightly easier. Fai lambs sold freely, and a good entry of store lambs met a keener demand on a slightly rising market. Cattle: A small entry of beef, with values for ox-beef steady, and cow and heifer beef showed a slight improvement on last week. Runners and vealers sold freely. A large entry of boner Cows was absorbed at fully equal to late market rates. Pigs: A large yarding of fat pigs, and a full entry of stores and weaners. Competition for baconers and porkers was very keen with values in advance of recent sales. Two pens of prime baconers from Messrs Holden and Entwistle, Tauwhare, made £4 3s to £4 4s, this being the highest price received for some time. Stores and weaners also sold well with the demand for choppers keener than previous sales.

Messrs Dalgety and Co. Ltd., report having held their usual stock sale at Frankton yesterday, as follows: — Sheep: An exceptionally heavy yarding of all classes of fat sheep were penned. Competition throughout for prime quality mutton was steady and values were firm on last week’s quotations. Fat lambs sold at full schedule rates. In the store section breeding ewes were dull of sale, but store lambs met with a good demand. Cattle: A medium yarding of fat bullocks and a good yarding of fat cows and heifers met a slightly better market than last week. Boners sold at late rates. Heavy fat bullocks £ll to £ll 12s 6d; medium ditto £9 5s to £los 12s 6d; fat P.A. heifers £7 15s to £8 2s 6d; fat P.A. cows £6 12s 6d to £7 7s 6d; heavy fat S.H. cows £9; heavy boners £4 to £4 11s; medium ditto £2 15s to £3 10s; lighter ditto 20s to 30s;- potter bulls £1 to 30s.

Pigs: A full yarding of fat pigs came forward with a good yarding of stores and weaners. Baconers improved on last week’s quotations while porkers eased slightly. Stores and weaners were not so keenly sought after. Top price for baconers was £4 14s.
