HELP FOR LONDON
A STIRRING APPEAL. “ALL HELP POSSIBLE.” Concluding an address which She delivered to a meeting of ladies in Te Awamutu on Thursday last, Mrs H. C. Ross, of Hamilton, made a stirring appeal for help for the Lady Galway Guild, which, in Te Awamutu, is run in conjunction with the local Red Cross. Mrs Ross stressed that the need for contributions of clothing was greater than ever and she appealed to the ladies present to make a still greater effort than in the past. In graphic language, she described the magnificent spirit in which the people of London were standing up to the horrors of continual bombing and it was their duty to assist them as much as possible by sending clothing—clothing which they themselves would be prepared to wear, not merely cast off material. Blankets were urgently required and surely each household could spare at least one. Ladies present agreed to further as much as possible.
