KEEPING FIT

HINTS FOR WOMEN. Keep a sharp look-out on your figure. Whatever regime you follow and however much you think hard work and strenuous exercise will a> complish, don’t forget that if you let your girdle down it will let you down. It must never, never lose its firm grip. One way is to send it to the suds every (week. There axe

many women, fastidious to the Nth degree over their lingerie, neglecting to give their girdle its weekly tubbing. This weekly refresher will restore your confidence —and your girdle’s youthful fit.

Only the very best soap flakes or powder should be used to wash your foundation. Make a fairly strong solution with medium hot water, and wash the garment with the hands, taking care not to wring it, and so risk breaking the elastic fibres. If there are some very soiled spots, spread the garment on a board and scrub lightly with a nail brush. After washing, care should

be taken that the elastic sections of the garment are stretched and held under a stream of fairly hot water, to allow any soap or deposits of perspiration which have managed to the elastic, to escape. If the elastic is of the two-way stretch variety, try to borrow another pair of hands to help you stretch it both ways at once.

Always hang your foundation upside down to dry, and never stretch it across the width—stretching your corset lengthwise, though, is good for it. It is better not to iron it under a damp cloth, with a not-too-hot iron.
