AT THE EMPIRE. “ THE KID FROM KOKOMO.” Starring Wayne Morris and Pat O’Brien, with Joan Blondell, May Robson, and Jane Wyman in the leading feminine roles, Warner Bros.’ new comedy romance, “ The Kid from Kokomo,” will show for the last time at the Empire Theatre to-night. A fast-moving story of the prize ring and its behind-the-scenes angles, with plenty of romantic and hilarious touches, “ The Kid from Kokomo ” is an -excellent picture well worth seeing. “ MISSING DAUGHTERS.” TO-MORROW, MONDAY, AND TUESDAY. A thrill-dyed story of what really happens to stage-struck girls how run-away girls get the Broadway runaround; girls who’d rather be marked' “ missing ” than branded failures —of such is “ Missing Daughters,” coming to the Empire to-morrow and to be screened there again on Monday and Tuesday. Richard Arlen and Rochelle Hudson are featured in this Columbia production, and are seen as a courageous couple who fight the vice-lords of the underworld, revealing the truth about what happens to America’s “ missing daughters.” A fine supporting cast headed by Isabel Jewell and Marian Marsh enhances the thrilling action in this fast-moving film.
