PURSUANT to Section 8 of The Dog Registration Act, 1908, and amendments, notice is hereby given that the fee for registration of dogs for the year 1940 is now payable to the Registrar of Dogs. The amount of fee has been fixed by the Council as under:— For each dog kept solely for the purpose of herding or droving sheer or cattle, 2s 6d; for all other dogs. 10s each. Attention is drawn to Section 4 of The Dog Registration Amendment. Act, 1938, to the effect that in addition to the fee payable under the principal Act for the registration of a dog there shall be payable in respect of the supply of an approved remedy for the prevention of hydatid disease a fee of a prescribed umoun . (fixed by regulation at Is for each dog registered), and until payment of the additional fee registration shall not be deemed to have been made. NOTE.—Registrations which would normally expire on the 31st December, 1939, have by The Dog Registration Emergency Regulations been extended until Ist February, 1940.
