TE RAU-A-MOA NOTES
SCHOOL PETS CLUB. (Own Correspondent.) The Te Rau-a-moa School Pets Club held its field day on Monday last, when Mr O’Connell, of the Department of Agriculture, attended to judge the exhibits. His awards were as un4fc?: — PefcAtab.—Olwyn Irving 1, Betty Cleave 2. Best hand-reared calf, dairy type.— Dawn Russell 1, Rex Cleave 2. Pet calf, best reared and handled.— Dawn Russell 1, Rex Cleave 2. There were some very attractive pets exhibited, but on account of the heavy rain prevailing some of the livestock was not seen at its best. Heavy rain was experienced in the Te Rau-a-moa district during last week-end, and it has been of great benefit to pastures, for there has since been a wonderful growth of feed throughout the district. Mr and Mrs Dan Love have returned home from a holiday trip. Mrs Millar Anderson is spending a holiday visiting relatives in the Pokuru and Te Awamutu districts.
