RIFLE SHOOTING
OTOROHANGA CLUB. (Our Resident Reporter.) In continuation of the shoots for the service championship, organised by the Otorohanga Defence Rifle Club, on the local butts, during the weekend, some fine shooting was put on by young marksmen. S. C. Long shot particularly well, and now ties with L. Palmer for the Graham trophy, for the highest score in rapid and snap shooting in the service series. Other prominent young shooters were J. Eveleigh, C. Hoar, A. Warren and J. Cowern. The principal scorers were: L. Palmer 75, C. Hoar 68, A. Warren 65, J. Cowern 65, C. Southall 64, S. C. Long 60, F. C. Hyde 57, D. Tyerman 56, W. Cooper 55, H. E. Lawrence 55, H. Murphy 45, H. J. Harris 43, J. Eveleigh 43, C. Bryant 39. The arrangements at the butts were excellent, and the club is to be congratulated on its efficient marker, Mr H. V. Kyle, of Te Kuiti.
