War news: The German forces in France are being forced to retire, abandoning guns and supplies. The Russians have pressed Austria into further retreat. A British submarine sank the German cruiser Hela. The anti-neutrality agitation is spreading in Italy; public opinion is strongly favourable towards Britain.
