The chairman spoke in reference to the athletic and sporting side of aquatics. He emphasised that it was for the rowing clubs to provide the necessary brawn and muscle to compete in the different events, but it is advisable that those with older heads should guide the competitors and contribute their administrative experience towards general success. Mrs Oldbury moved, and Mr Schnackenberg seconded, that a meeting of all interested be convened for the purpose of discussing the representation of Kawhia at the coming centennial events. The secretary and Mr Ward were deputed to inspect the shed and report upon its present condition.
