SOCIAL SECURITY ACT

SPECIAL MEETING OF WOMEN. B.M.A. STRONGLY SUPPORTED. (Our Resident Reporter.) At a specially convened meeting of the women of Otorohanga and district in the local Town Hall on Wednesday, a large attendance was addressed by Mrs C. Irvine, of Otewa, and others on the Social Security Act as it applies to the B.M.A. Mrs F. O. R. Phillips presided, and the subject matter of the meeting was discussed in every detail. The various aspects of the Social Security Act were thoroughly considered and generally discussed, after which the following resolution was unanimously carried:— “That this large and truly representative meeting of women of Otorohanga and district supports the B.M.A.’s attitude towards the Social Security Act, as enacted by the present Government.” It was an enthusiastic gathering anif closed with a hearty vote of thanks to Mrs Irvine for her very i able address.
