OBITUARY

MRS A. O. PARKES. The death occurred on the 4th inst. at the Waikato Hospital of Alice Oliver, wife of Mr G. W. Parkes, of Otorohanga, in her 57th year. The deceased lady had been ailing for some time. Born in Taranaki, she came to the Otorohanga district some 20 years ago and settled on the land at Honikiwi, where her husband was also engaged in sawmilling for some vears. She is survived by an adult daughter (Freda) and son (Arthur), of Otorohanga. Her surviving sisters are Mesdames N. A. Reid (Matamata), T. F. and A. H. Lee, of Eltham. The interment took place in the Otorohanga Cemetery on Tuesday.
