TROTTING

THE WAIKATO CLUB. At a meeting of the committee of the Waikato Trotting Club, it was de cided- to make application to the Trotting Association for four permits next season, September 4, October 15, December 3 and May 13. A circular letter was received from the Trotting Conference that the annual conference would be held in Wellington on July 6. Attention was also drawn to the fact that all members of the Trotting Board would be retiring this season and nominations ware invited to fill the vacancies. It was unanimously decided to nominate the president, Mr R. T. Reid, and letters were read from the Cambridg-e and Thames clubs supporting this nomination.

The secretary was instructed to notify all North Island clubs that the nomination of Mr Reid was going forward and requesting clubs to support it.

As evidence of the improved financial position of the club, it was decided to advise the bank to release the club’s guarantors and the secretary was instructed to write Messrs H. W. Burch and J. Fraser Smith expressing the club’s sincere appreciation of the valued, assistance they had rendered the club over a period of years.
