Stating that he had always considered it a correct principle for the representative of the Pukekoht District Fire Board to be an elected member of the council, Mr C. K. Lawrie, the former Mayor, who was defeated at the recent poll, tendered his resignation as the representative on the board, at a meeting of the Pukekohe Borough Council. Mr John Routley, the newly-elected Mayor, was appointed to the vacancy.
