CROQUET
SOUTH AUCKLAND ASSOCIATION. ANNUAL MEETING. At the annual meeting of the South Auckland Croquet Association representatives from the following clubs were present: Te Awamutu, Cambridge, Claudclands, Frankton, Hamilton, Huntly, Leamington, Matamata, Morrinsville, Taupiri, Te Aroliaand Whitiora.
In the unavoidable absence of the president, Mrs Gall, the chair was taken by Mrs G. Meikle, vice-presid-ent.
The balance-sheet showed the Association to be in a very satisfactory financial position.
During the season three new-clubs affiliated, and two dubs withdrew, leaving 3G clubs affiliated, with a total membership of 755 members It was decided to again hold the annual tournament in Hamilton next February. *
The election of officers resulted as fo lows: Patron, Mr J. R. F ow; pre . si ent, Mrs J R. Fow; vice-presidents, Mesdames Meikle (Te Aroha), Totman (Hamilton), and Griffin (Matamata); handicapper, Mrs S. R. Hawken; referee, Mrs Kibblewhite; secretary and treasurer, Mrs Rockell; delegate to New Zealand Croquet Conference, Mrs Meikle.
It was decided to elect three country members and a representative from each of the Hamilton clubs, not represented, to the committee. The following were elected: Mesdames F. ? ( L e Awamutu), Watkins tfiuntly), Hopkirk (Cambridge 1, Williams (St. Paul’s), Peterson (Railway), and one from Frankton. Alter the general business had been transacted the meeting closed with a hearty vote of thanks to the chair
