HOCKEY
LADIES’ TRIAL MATCH. GAME AT ALBERT PARK TOMORROW. With a view to selecting a team to represent Waipa in the match with the English ladies’ touring hockey team at Albert Park on 9th June, the following teams have been chosen to play a trial match to-morrow aftei - noon, at 3.30 o’clock, at Albert Park, and the selector states he expects every player chosen to give ot her best, as no doubt the display will have a bearing on the choosing of the eleven to meet the English ladies. The teams are:—
A team: Goalie, Mrs Richmond (Otorohanga); full-backs, Mrs C-.r--bett (Otorohanga), Miss McColl (Otorohanga); halves, Misses T. Butterworth (Pirongia), P. Sifleet (Pirongia), I. Sifleet (Pirongia); forwards, Misses J. Lithgow (Otorohanga), E. Spiers (Paterangi), R. Spiers (Paterangi), G. Bell (Pirongia), Mrs Hawley (Pirongia).
B team: Goalie, Miss M. Anderson (Pirongia); full-backs, Mrs Harris (Otorohanga), Mrs C. Ryburn (Paterangi); halves, Misses K. Macky (Paterangi), E. Hall (Hairini), Z. Spiers (Hairini); forwards, Misses R. Dixon (Paterangi), D. Beet (Pirongia), Verity (Hairini), N. Wilson (Hairini), J. Cameron (Otorohanga). Reserves for both teams: Misses G. Curtis (Paterangi), M. Hunter (Otorohanga), G. Buchanan (Pirongia), P. Snowden (Paterangi), J. Silvester (Paterangi), P. Brown (Hairini). It should be noted that all the emergencies will be given a trial in the second half of the match. OTOROHANGA TEAMS. The following lady players will represent Otorohanga A against Paterangi to-morrow: Mesdames Corbett, Harris, Misses Rodgers, O. Hail, M. Hunter, Byrnes, C. Hall, J. Lithgow, G. Meredith and Cameron. The Otorohanga B team to engage Pirongia on Saturday next is: Mrs Hammond, Misses M. Rogers, F. Lithgow. B. Still, P. Clarke, D. Still, E. Holmes, A. Hunter, E. Nicholson, S. Phillips, A. UrquhartMrs Harris and Miss J. Lithgow have been nom inated to play in the Possibles v. Probables match at Auckland from which a team will be selected to nlay the English Ladies’ team.
