At a sitting o£ the Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday morning judgment was given by default in the following undefended civil claims— J. H. O’Connor v. Henry Hughes, £1 14s 6d, costs 14s. E. V. Rhodes v. Rangi Moerua, £lO 14s Id, Court costs £1 Bs, solicitor’s fees £1 11s. N. W. McColl v. O. Raymond, £ll 14s lOd, Court costs £1 3s, solicitor’s fees £1 11s. John Turnbull v. G. Searancke, £8 15s sd, costs £l, solicitor’s fees 15s 6d. ODDFELLOWS’ INSTALLATIONThe following /officers were installed at the half-yearly installation ceremonies of Endeavour Lodge, 10.0.F., in the Friendly Societies’ Hall, Otorohanga:— Bro. L. Webster, p.D.G.M., with Bro. J. Coulter, D.G., and Bro. J. Reidy, P.G., together with several visiting Past Grands from fraternal Lodges, performed the ceremonies of installation, as follows: J.P.G-, Bro. J. LeathamjN.G., Bro. K. Small; V.G., Bro. Rae; conductor, Bro. C. Prescott; Warden, Bro. W. C. Williamson; chaplain, Bro. G. H. Phillips; P.S., Bro. W. J. C- Patterson; R.S., Bro. Garry; treasurer, Bro. A. H. Larsen; R.S.N.G., Bro. W. B. McAdam; L.S.N-G., Bro. Sanders; R.S.V.G. Bro. Iverson; L.S.V.G., Bro. C. Harris; R.S.S., Bro. James; L.S.S., Bro. J. GouldA Past Grand’s collar was presented to Bro. W. J. C. Patterson, and a presentation was also made to the retiring secretary, Mr C. C. Brownie. THE WEATHER. Very seasonal weather conditions prevail in and about Otorohanga, and cold nights, with slight degrees of frost, followed by beautiful days of warm sunshine, have obtained for the past week. As a result of the warm days there is still a noticeable pasture growth, and although late in the dairying season the production of cream continues well up to the standard of previous early winter seasons.
