OTOROHANGA COURT
YESTERDAY’S PROCEEDINGS. Mr W. H. Freeman, S.M., presided at a sitting of the Magistrate’s Court at Otorohanga yesterday. Putangi Davis, charged with striking Tame Paki, in Maniapoto Street, Otorohanga, was convicted and fined £1 with costs, 10s. On a further charge of using obscene language, the same defendant was convicted and ordered to pay 15s Court costs. Bernard Major Williams, charged with having driven a motor truck on the.old Kio Kio Road, to which the public have access, without using due care and attention, was convicted and fined I'Os with costs, 10s. Noel Smith, Noxious Weeds Inspector to the Otorohanga County Council, proceeded against Patrick E. T. Collins, a farmer of the Honikiwi district, on a charge of failing to clear ragwort from his farm. Defendant pleaded not guilty, and was convicted. J. Sklenars, also of Honikiwi district, on a similar charge, was convicted and order to pay 12s costs.
