WAIPA UNION BUSINESS. e MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. A meeting of the Management Committee of the Waipa Rugby Union was held on Monday evening, when there were present Messrs R. S. Sinclair (chair), R. L. Adams, S. Baddeley, G. Daniell, C. R. Brown, P. Stephens, C. W. Smith and the secretary (Mr R. Dalziell). In regard to the insurance fund, it was resolved “That the Management Committee have power to ask for a medical certificate from any player or players who might be considered as a doubtful risk before allowing such player or players to take part in a match under which a claim could be made for insurance.” A letter was received from the District High School, and it was decided to pass it on to the Junior Advisory Board with a recommendation that a fourth grade competition be inaugurated. The request of the Korakonui Club for a free football was granted, and it will be sent out as soon as the free footballs-are received from the Waikato Union. The Rovers Club were granted permission to pla> matches at Waihi on Saturday, April 23, and the Te Awamutu Club similar permission to play Technical Old Boys on the same date. It was resolved that the president and secretary be a sub-committee, with power to add, to revise the rules, such committee to report before June 30th. The secretary was instructed to write to Otorohanga, Hamilton and Maniapoto sub-unions for a copy of their rules to be used as a guide by the sub-committee. Owing to the lack of a suiable date the matter of holding a seven-a-side tournament was deferred till later in the season.. A recommendation was passed suggesting to the Junior Advisory Board that on the day the Te AwamutuRovers match in the Stag competition is played locally, the Board hold a seven-a-side tournament for junior, third and fourth grade teams; and that the medal donated by Mr George Spinley be competed for on the same date. A sub-committee was appointed to draw up an estimate of receipts and expenditure during the coming season. An emergency committee consisting of the president, secretary and Messrs S. Baddeley and W. F. Whitton was appointed. It was decided to grant the ReFerees’ Association twelve hand books and to order a similar number. The matter of providing badges and jerseys for the referees was deferred till the sub-committee reports on the financial estimates. In the meantime the association is to be requested to supply an estimate of the cost.
