PRICES AT PUTARURU. Messrs Dalgety and Company report on their Putaruru stock sale held on Monday as under:— A small yarding of both sheep and cattle came forward, changing hands at satisfactory prices. We quote:— Sheep: Fat lambs 245, medium-qual-ity freezing ewes 16s 6d. Cattle: Medium fat cows £7 15s, heavy Jersey cows £6 3s, lighter ditto £4 15s to £5 9s, light Jersey heifers £5 ss, potter bulls to £6 12s, according to weight and condition. Pigs: A full yarding of pigs came forward, and prices were firm throughout the sale. Heavy baconers made £3 16s, medium ditto £3 to £3 ss, heavy porkers £2 10s to £2 16s, medium ditto £2 5s to £2 10s, light ditto £1 18s to £2 3s, small ditto £1 2s to £1 18s, large store pigs £1 10s to £1 17s, medium stores £1 6s to £1 10s ; small £1 to £1 ss, best slips 15s to £l, best weaners 10s to 15s, others 6s to 10s. HAMILTON STOCK SALE. Messrs Dalgety and Company report having held their weekly fat stock sale at Frankton on Tuesday, when a short yarding of both sheep and cattle was offered. Sheep, although in very short supply, were on a par with last week for quality, with plain sheep neglected. W'e quote: Heavy prime wethers 29s to 30s 9d, best 2-tooths 28s 3d, lighter unfinished sheep to 24s 6d, best fat ewes to 22s 3d, freezing sorts 15s to 16s 6d, heavy prime lambs 23s to 25s 9d, unfinished 17s to 18s 3d. Beef was firm on last week, with an improvement in cow beef. We yarded no ox. Heavy prime speyed cows £8 10s to £9 15s, heavy Jersey cows £6 6s. Calves were in good demand; heavy runners made £3 15s to £4 7s, lighter to £2 Ils, Jersey vealers to £1 4s. Pigs: Only an average yarding of pigs came forward, and prices were firm throughout the sale. Baconers improved, and the top price was £4 4s. Large stores met with a ready demand. We quote: Prime topweight baconers £4 3s to £4 4s, prime heavy baconers £3 15s to £4, heavy baconers £3 10s to £3 15s, medium baconers £3 5s to £3 10s, light ditto £3 to £3 ss, prime heavy porkers £2 10s to £2 18s, prime ditto £2 5s to £2 10s, medium ditto £1 18s to £2 4s, light ditto £1 13s to £1 18s, small ditto £1 8s to £1 13s, large store pigs £1 10s to £1 17s, medium ditto £1 5s to £1 10s, best slips 18s to £1 2s, best weaners 10s to 14s.
