SPEAKERS’ SCHOOL
U.A.P. PREPARES FOR ELECTION. A school for speakers who will conduct the United Australia party’s campaign at the Federal election towards the end of the year will be held at the Hotel Cecil, Cronulla, from August 27 to August 29. This will be the first campaign school to have been conducted by the party in Australia, and the main object will be to equip the speakers with a full knowledge of the party’s achievements and policy, so that they will be able to deal effectively with interjections and questions at election meetings. An official of the party said that in the past many speakers had shown a sorry lack of knowledge of U.A.P. Governments’ administration and policy. Electors required convincing replies to questions and it was essential that speakers should have the knowledge of party affairs necessary to furnish adequate replies. As a preliminary to the school, evening lectures would be given at U.A.P. headquarters in Sydney on public speaking, meeting tactics, broadcasting, and similar subjects.
