BADMINTON

TE AWAMUTU V. MATIERE. Te Awamutu Badminton Club are to entertain a party of players from the Matiere (King Country) Club next Saturday evening. The Te Awamutu representatives in an interclub contest are to be: Messrs W. J. Craik, R. Goodall, E. Melville, F. I. Miller, Mrs Melville, Misses Melville, E. Clarke and D. Pearte. The Matiere players are: Messrs Crawford, McDonald, Raikes and Hall, Mrs Hall, Mrs Rutherford, Miss Allison and Miss Bowman. Singles, doubles and combined doubles will be played, and a start will be made at 6.30. TE AWAMUTU V. ST. JOHN’S. The Te Awamutu team selected to meet St. John’s Club team on Tuesday evening next is: Messrs E. Missen, G. Rainey, W. Hartstone and R. A. Armstrong; Misses V. Keats, D. Pearte, M. Clark and M. Quin.
