CLEARING SALE AT TE AWAMUTU. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company held a clearing sale on account of Mr John Parr at Te Awamutu on Monday, when his complete herd of Jersey cows was offered to a good attendance of buyers. The herd, which came forward in good condition, included a fair proportion of young cows, for which competition was brisk and values compared favourably with recent clearing sale realisations. Older cows and later calvers, although not so keenly sought, sold on a par with recent rates. A small offering Af sundries realised late values. We quote: Jersey cows (best early calvers) £lO 10s to £l2, other early calvers £8 to £lO, backward £5 to £7 10s, Jersey springing heifers £5 15s to £6 15s, Jersey calves to £3. FRANKTON STOCK SALE. Average entries in all sections at the weekly Frankton stock sale on Tuesday were in good request for butchers and export buyers. Competition was generally firm and there was no usual market trend. Ox -beef was in light supply and the entry comprised fairly light weight cattle. While lighter weight descriptions sold readily, the demand was slow for heavier pens. Cows and heifers were forward in moderate supply, and entries were not so ready of sale, and in some cases values were just a shade lower. Boners and potter bulls again cleared readily. The smaller entry of fat sheep was ready of sale and, while heavy wethers were a little cheaper light weights made last week’s money. Ewes were traded readily at ■ late rates, while lambs were again in keen request at last week’s quotations. Few heavy prime baconers were forward in the tat pig section. All pens of well finished pigs were keenly sought, and a slight advance was apparent.
