WEDDING

MUNRO—SYMES. A wedding of interest in the Otoroliaiiga district was solemnised at the Presbyterian Church, Otorohanga, on Saturday morning last, the Rev. S. W. Webber officiating. The contracting parties were Mr David Munro, younger son of Mr and Mrs Munro, of Te Waitere (Kawhia district), ami Miss Winifred Symes, third daughter ol Mi' and Mrs Richard L. Symes, of Otcwa district. Mrs H. W. Atkinson presided at the organ. The bride, looking very tvinsome, entered the church with her father. She Wore a gown of magnolia satin, cut on Grecian lines, the back panel forming a charming train. The high-necked bodice was finished with a band of plaiting, and fitting sleeves tapered te a point at the wrists. . Her handembroidered tulle veil fell in short folds to form a second train, and was held in place by a coronet of orange blossoms. She carried a bouquet of white roses, chrysanthemums, and maidenhair fern. The two bridesmaids, the Misses Mavis Grey (Otorohanga) and Zelda Symes (sister of of the bride), were costumed alike in green silk-striped mate crepe, witii collars and girdles of silver. Flowers and leaves were worn in the hair, which, together with bouquets of seasonal blooms, tinted chrysanthemums predominating, completed a very charming colour scheme. Mr F. W. G. Johnson (Otorohanga) functioned as best man, and Mr Munro (brother of the bridegroom) was groomsman. A largely-attended reception was held at the homestead of the bride’s parents, Otcwa Road, where the guests were received by the bride’s mother, assisted by the mother of the bridegroom. The bride’s mother wore a brown and white ensemble with accessories in harmony. Mrs Munro wore a navy blue costume, with navy and white accessories. Each carried a bouquet of seasonal blooms, chrysanthemums predominating. The bridal couple left by car on the honeymoon, the bride wearing a black and white chequered costume, with black and white accessories. Mr and Mrs Munro will make their home in the King Country.
