Miss Rona Davis, of the Waikato Hospital nursing staff, is at present enjoying her annual leave with her parents in Te Awamutu. Mr J. N. Stephens, for the last two months accountant at the local branch of Newton King, Ltd., has returned to Stratford, and his place has been taken by Mr C. B. Mills, of the head office. New Plymouth. Mrs James Waters, of Roche Street, has received news of the death, which occured at Kaiwaka last evening, of her father, Mr Wm. Leslie, a prominent settler in the Maungaturoto district, and for many years a Grand Lodge officer of the Masonic Order. Advice received in Te Awamutu last evening indicates that Mr George Dalton, Jnr., who contracted infantile paralysis and was admitted to .Christchurch Hospital, is now regarded as out of danger, and is believed to be making a good recovery.
