BAND CONCERT

SPLENDID PROGRAMME. SUBMITTED. The Te Awamutu Municipal Band has promoted some very enjoyable and popular concerts from time to time, but it is safe to say that the concert under the same auspices on Wednesday evening at the Empire Theatre exceeded the previous best—in fact it was one of the best concerts presented in Te Awamutu for many a month, according to some patrons. Every entertainer on a well varied and lengthy programme was above average in entertainment value, the orchestra was achieving wonders, the lighting effects were appropriate and magnificent, and the stage direction was “up to the minute,” there being a minimum of intervals between items. It would perhaps be unfair and invidious’ to single out any particular item for special reference where all were excellent, but we can extend congratulations to ail concerned upon the success of the concert.
