AT THE EMPIRE. "SONS OF GUNS.”—TO-NIGHT. “If real wars were like this, said Joe E. Brown, “we'd hate peace!” Which gives a hint of the novel picture Warner Bros, launched in their film version ot the Broadway musical show, “Suns O’ Guns,” to be shown at the Regent Theatre to-night. It is a war picture with all the movie army mobilisation pomp and massiveness of such pictures as “All Quiet on the Western Front,” and “What Price Glory," but completely in comedy vein. Not a touch of the grim side is allowed to enter or even be suggested. “THREE SMART GIRLS.” TO-MORROW AND MONDAY. In “Three Smart Girls,” to be shown at the Regent to-morrow and on Monday and Tuesday, the fun is swift, the dialogue brightly written and the action merrily placed. Deanna Durbin, the new radio discovery with the lovely soprano voice, makes her screen debut in “Three Smart Girls." Leading roles are played by Binnie Barnes, Alice Brady, Ray Milland and Charles Winniger, remembered for his role of Captain Andy in “Show Boat.” AT THE EMPIRE. "THE CAPTAIN’S! KID.”—TO-NIGHT “The Captain’s Kid” will be shown at the Empire Theatre to-night, and will be headed by a talented cast, including Mav Robson, Sybil Jason and Guy Kibbea. _ . j/iBH “THE TEXAS RANGERS.” TO-MORROW AND MONDAY. A thrilling picture of western life will be shown at the Empire Theatre to-morrow and Monday. It is entitled “The Texas Rangers," and is full oi thrills, action and excitement. The cast includes Fred Mac Murray, Jean Parker and Jack Oakie.
