ISLAND WITH ONE CAR

ONLY HALF-MILE OF ROADWAY. Jethou, smallest of the Channel Islands, between England and France, little more than a mile in circumference, has its first motor car. The owners are Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Fortington, lessees of the island from the Crown. The longest distance that can be covered by car is under half a mile, and this has to be done in a circle. Mr. and Mrs. Fortington will use the car to and from their house on the hill to the miniature jetty below, a distance of 400 yards.
