AS REPORTED IN THE WAIPA POST ON NOVEMBER 7th, 1911. The tender of Mr Hastings has been accepted for the erection of a dwelling in Teasdale Street for Mr G. Gifford. Bartleet, J. G. Sutherland, J. Bonner, Capt. Hope Johnson, J. R. Anderson, N. M. Lethbridge, J. B. Hutchinson senr., A. H. Brett and Dr Gribben; committee, Messrs A. C. McCardle, W. G. Kay, J. Anderson, W. Thomson, W. Hume-Jones, A. McCardlc, W. McCathie, R. Henderson, T. Wilson and O. Kay; secretary, Mr Fraser-Smith. Rangiaohia Road Board is proposing a £2OOO roading loan. Government grants are available for Ngaroto £360, Rangiaohia £250, Te Rahu £l2O, Lake Road £l2O and Kihikihi £5OO. Waipa Cricket Association has appointed Messrs Jary, Laurie and Livingstone selectors for the season. Pirongia tennis season opened on Saturday. Miss R. Fear and Mr Geo. The driving of the first pile for the new concrete bridge over the Mangahoe stream in Arawata Street was ceremoniously done on Friday Mr J. B. Teasdale acting for the ‘ County Council He recalled the time in 1876 when the old bridge was erected A deputation from the tennis and bowling clubs (Messrs von Sturmer and Stewart) waited on the Puniu Domain Board on Saturday to ask could some form of control be vested in the clubs over the portion ot the lands occupied at Victoria Park Incidentally this was the first meeting held in Bockett’s municipal offices in the buildings now occupied by the Union Bank. Elected to the Mangahoe Drainage Board on Monday were Messrs G. M. A. Ahier, J. Middlebrook, J. North, H. Sutherland and R. Ramsay. On the Kawa Drainage Board are Messrs Geo. Kay, Teasdale, Valder and Ross.
