OWAIRAKA VALLEY v. PARAWERA. The Owairaka Valley Tennis Club opened its 1936-37 season auspiciously during the week-end, with a large assembly oi players and friends, while Parawera Club sent its representatives for an Inter-club contest. This ended in a win for the home team by 13 sets and 88 points to Parawera’s two sets and 54 points. .Following are the scores, with Owairaka Valley players named first: Men’s singles: F. McGrath beat A. Jackson 6—3, C. Marshall beat N. Toiwhare 6—5. T. Marshall beat D. Ngahoe 6—5, W. Marino beat W. Tewao 6—3, Heta beat N. .Mangere. 6—l, J. Tunoho beat C. Hill 6—l, P. Heta beat R. Mauriohooho 6—2, B. Barlow beat C. Tewao 6 —2, F. Tunoho beat K. Taukiri 6—5, N. Hau beat H. Hiri 6—l. Men’s doubles: McGrath and C. Marshall lost to Jackson and Toiwhare 5—6, T. Marshall and Marino lost to Ngahoe and W. Tewao 5—6, K. Heta and J. Tunoho beat Hill and Mangere 6—5, F. Heta and Barlow beat Mauriohooho and C. Tewao 6—5, F. Tunoho and N. Hau beat Taukiri and H.
