TE RORE NOTES

CROQUET CLUB OPENING. (Own Correspondent.) The Te Rore Croquet Club held its opening day on Wednesday, and the weather was perfect. Although not attracting a large attendance, a most enjoyable time was spent. Mr E. Wilson, in his remarks, wished the club every success for the coming year, and in declaring the lawns opened called on the president, Mrs W. Godfrey, to play the first ball. Competitions were played, and resulted as follows: Hitting ball on peg: Ladies, Mrs McKinnon; gents, Mr H. Allcock. Clock croquet, Mrs Butterworth, gents Mr H. Allcock. A delicious afternoon tea was served by the ladies.
