A. AND P. ASSOCIATION

OTOROHANGA’S ANNUAL GATHERING.

There was a large attendance of members at the annual meeting of the Otorohanga Agricultural and Pastoral Association, the president, Mr O. Dalziel, conducting the proceedings. The president’s report disclosed that a slight loss had been made over the last show, owing to larger prize money being given, and to the fact that the attendance was reduced owing to unfavourable weather conditions.

The Association is, however, firmly entrenched with assets and financial resources, its membership has increased by ninety during the year, and the future prospects of the fixture are assured. Six new cups and 13 other trophies have been given for next show. The election of officers resulted: Patron, Mr W. J. Broadfoot, M.P.; t, resident, Mr G. D. Hall (Kio Kio); vice-presidents, Messrs J. Richmond and E. Cumpstone; executive, Messrs F. Richmond, Noel Smith, Chas. Whittington, V. McD. Hitchings, Colin Merrin, R. G. Matthews, T. G. Rawlings, A. M. Bell, O. Dalziel, H. E. Walters; district representatives, the same as previously; honorary sugpeons, Dr R. C. Bonnington and Dr A. M. MacFarlane; auditor, Mr Clive Tucker; treasurer, Mr H. E. Lawrence.

At the social gathering that followed musical items were rendered by the orchestra and by Messrs Richardson, Wilkinson, and Stewart; tapdancing and conjuring items were contributed by Mr L. Cameron.
