TE AWAMUTU STOCK SALE. New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., Hamilton, report on their Te Awamutu stock sale, held on Thursday, as follows:—Cattle: The yarding was practically filled to capacity. Several pens of prime qx beef came forward as well as a good representation of heavy fat cows. Buy-’ ers from Otorohanga, Taumarunui, Te Kultl and all Waikato centres, as well as a full bench of exporters’ representatives, were operating. Prices accordingly for all classes of fat stock were well maintained. Store and boner cows were slacker in line with the conditions evident at other centres, but at the standard set the demand was insatiable. We quote: Heavy fat bullocks £9 10s to £9 15s, prime quality S.H. heifers £6 to £6 16s, heavy do £5 to £6, prime S.H. cows £5 10s to £6 12s, heavy Jersey cows £4 5s to £4 17s 6d, medium fat Jersey cows £3 10s to £4 2s 6d, light £2 10s to £3, plain stores £2 2s to £2 10s, boners 36s to £2, others 355, pen of well bred S.H. grown store steers £7 15s. Dairy cattle: The entry was a fairly heavy one, and in addition to the draft of first class dairy heifers entered on account of Mr W. Struthers, contained a good proportion of early, good types of dairy cattle. Animated bidding was displayed, particularly of the better sorts. We quote: 25 heifers on account Mr W. Struthers averaged £6 12s 6d, best dairy heifers due early £7 5s to £8 10s, good Jersey heifers £5 15s to £6 15s, medium £4 10s to £5 10s, inferior to £4 ss, good dairy cows close to profit £4 5s to £5 10s, medium £3 10s to £4 ss. Sheep: Fat lambs comprised the principal part of the yarding, but fat ewes too were entered in heavy supply. Wethers were scarce. A particularly keen sale took place for the fati lambs, whilst ewes and wethers maintained Frankton values. The breeding ewes, of which about 300 mostly 4 year to aged sheep came forward, were exceedingly well competed for and prices were very appreciably in favour of vendors. Store lambs likewise sold very-well. We quote: Medium fat wethers 20s to 22s 6d, medium fat ewes 15s to 16s 6d, light do 14s to 15s, extra heavy fat lambs 25s to 265, good quality fat lambs 22s to 24s 6d, medium 19s to 21s 6d, forward store lambs 14s to 16s, medium do 12s to 13s 6d, inferior to Us, 4 tooth to 4 vear breeding ewes 24s 6d, 5 year 24s 4d, aged 15s to 18s. Pigs: A phenominally heavy yarding of baconers and porkers was penned. The market was firm at the best of recent quotations, and a complete clearance was made. Store and weaner pigs were in lesser supply than customary, and for these a satisfactory sale ensued. We quote: Heavy baconers £3 2s to £3 7s, good quality do £2 15s to £3, medium £2 Ils to £2 14s, heavy porkers £2 2s to £2 "s, medium 38s to £2 Is, inferior 31s to 37s 6d, well grown store pigs 14s to 17s 6d, slips Us to 13s 6d, weaners large 9s to Us, inferior 9s.
