ELECTION RESULTS
ARRANGEMENTS BY TE AROIIA NEWS As in the past arrangements have been made by the Te Aroha News for the display of the results qjL the night of the election. The resutVs will be shown on a board 10ft by 40ft in front of the News Buildings. The names of the electorates and candidates will bo exhibited in characters large enough to be readable from a considerable distance. Provision has been made for showing in detail the returns for the Tauranga and Ohincmuri electorates, and a space will be left also for the results of the licensing poll. The board will be illuminated by powerful electric lights which will be installed for the occasion. So that the results will be available at the earliest possible moment an engagement has been entered into by which the News will have ttje advantage of a special telegraphic service, and almost immediately after the results from various parts of the Dominion reach Hamilton they will be available for the people of Te Aroha. The figures showing the votes recorded in each case will be painted on slips of paper, and will then be pasted in their proper places on the board without loss of time. The quickest way for anyone to learn the results will be by watching the board. A member of the staff will be in constant attendance at the telephone, but not for the purpose of answering inquiries with regard to the returns and only in exceptional cases and when the evening is well advanced will any such enquiries be answered. The office will be closed to the public, and only those who are assisting will be admitted.
