CHILDREN’S BALL

COMPLETE SUCCESS The children’s plain and fancy dress ball held in the Theatre Royal on Friday evening was a complete success. About 100 children in fancy dress .took part in the Grand March, and made of that event a most picturesque procession. The hall was most beautifully decorated with coloured lights, streamers and balloons, which harmonising with the quaint and colourful dresses, produced a most pleasing effect. The children had the floor to themselves until about 10 p.m., after which a balloon was presented to each child, and then supper was served. The supper, which was of a most appetizing nature, was provided by the Ladies’ Guild. The music was supplied by Tibbott’s orchestra, who acquitted themselves in their usual splendid way. Extras were played by Mr Mayne. The whole evening sped pleasantly by and everybody seemed to enjoy themselves immensely. The costumes were on the whole exceptionall good, and were both dainty and original.
