A WOMAN’S IF
It‘s no use trying to argue a woman into believing that she ought to pay a bill when she thinks otherwise. A picture dealer tried it once; he sent a bill to a certain lady for some pictures delivered two months before. Here is her answer—in brief: “I never ordered any pictures. “If I did, you never delivered them. “If you did, I never got them. “If I did, I paid for them. “If I didn't, I must have had some good reason for it. “If I had, of course I won’t pay now. “P.S.—And the pictures are not at all nice, either.”
