THE PRINCE OF WALES

VALUE OF TRAVEL The Prince of Wales at a banquet for the Dominion Prime Ministers, urged a wider “first-hand” knowledge of the Empire. His chief points were:— What a wonderful thing the British Empire is. I feel that this point cannot be brought home too often or too strongly. I attach a very great importance to first-hand knowledge of the Empire. I should like to encourage a spirit of travel in statesmen, journalists, and school teachers—among all the distributors of information in Great Britain. It is only a very small percentage of the population of the United Kingdom who can travel —travelling is expensive. I feel that occasional tours organised for people in the professions I have mentioned would do untold good.
