FOOD FOR BRITAIN
A MATTER OF ORGANISATION “It is evident that what is required is that the meat supplies of this country should be scientifically organised, with the double purpose of maintaining an ample and cheap supply, while preserving the interests of the English producer. At present these conflict with the interests of the producers in the Dominions. Therefore, it is first of all necessary to devise a practical arrangement under which the Dominions supply the 55 or more' 1 per cent, of meat required. The foreign producer is doing his utmost by means of skilled organisation to extend his market in this country, and we suggest to the Dominions that they should meet organisation with better organisation. It is a matter in which'Australia, New Zealand, Can ada and South Africa might w- I combine their forces; and they m ; ?u consider it advisable to in\ ■ > a certain amount of public mon o ;b-» business.”—The Morning IT.
