Mr and Mrs Campbell, of Waihi, are to hold a dance and waltzing competition in the Parish Hall on Wednesday evening next, October 24. Attention is called to the postponement of the lecture advertised to be delivered in the Theatre Royal on Sunday night by Mr R. T. Reid, of Waikino. Mr Reid was one of the victims of the shocking tragedy at the Awakino school, where he was a teacher'. It is intended, wc are informed by the secretary, Mr R. Barker, to arrange for a lecture to be delivered at a future date.

The question of improving Thompson’s Track which has been advocated by the Te Aroha Chamber of Commerce and members of local bodies, has been engaging the attention of local bodies at Tauranga for some time *past. The Tauranga County Council has asked their engineer to report on the matter, as the track, it is considered, should become one of the best outlets between the Bay of Plenty and the Waikato.
