Mr W. J. Gibbs reported on works in progress throughout the The portion alfecfcyig our readers is as follows ; „ ; Ngarua Bridge and Approaches— Together with the Chairman and Cr McLean, I inspected this new wotk. The biidge is now completed and the approaches will be again proceeded with in a few days. Piakoiti Valley Metalling—Metal is arriving and is being stacked for the completion of the work this coming season. Together with the Ohairmau, 1 inspected Waitoa - Matamata road, Diagonal, WaioroDgomai - Maung vkawa, and Seddon’s roads, also attended in the evening a meeting of the ratepayers along Mikkelsrn’s and Waiorongomai - Manngakawa roads with the view of raising a loan to metal these roads.

Waitoa-Matamata road, south end —This road is required to be graded;;, up early this season. Wardville road—»Metal is now

being stacked on this road, and metal for repairs is being carted on where required. Waghorn’s road—An engineer's survey of this road was carried ont aud plans and spacifioations will be forwarded to the Public Works Department as soon as possible. Waiorongomai Quarry—l have stopped the quarrying of metal to concentrate on farther stripping and the erection of the new plant. The gantry on the Waiorongomai Mines tram line is being repaired and will bs completed in a few days. Waitoa-Matamata road, north end. —The new metal has been raked in and rolled, and the wprk is very satisfactory. Hamilton-Te Aroha Main road A section n< at Waihon is now being srarificed up, remetalled and rolhd. Another section near Tatuanui is being metalled and is progressing satisfactorily. Waitoa Roads— Mobl of the roads in the riding have been trimmed with the grader and are considerably improved.
