HIGH COMMISSIONER'S REPORT
Wellington, April 24 The High Commissioner reports, London, April 23,1.15 p.m. : Sir Douglas Haig reports : We attacked at dawn on a wide front on both sides of the Scarpe, and are proceeding with satisfactory progress southwards of Bapaume and Cambrai Road. We captured the remainder of the village of Trexanlt at night, and\ gained the greater part of Havrin. court Wood. London, April 23A French official report says:— There is great artillerying southwards; of Soissons and Rheims. In the Champagne a strong German attack yesterday north-eastwards; of Mont Haut was broken by artillery" and machine gun fire.
