Lord Hopetoun has been shown on many occasions from a yearling up to date, and has only .had to take second award once. He has proved himself a sire of the first order not only as a Show ring horse but as a sire of stock that command big prices in the sale ring. Lord Dudley has only been shown once, and at Waikato Central Show as a two-year-old ; he was placed Ist and reserve champion in a class of six- His dam on the same occasion took Ist for mare with foal, and his own sister reserve champion in mares- Anyone conversant with pedigree will agree that Lord Dudley is decended from the very best strains procurable. He has a combination of strains that would be very difficult to beat in any one animal, being directly connected with Herd Laddie, Crown Prince, and Quality King, Glengyle and Hard Times—New Zealand’s very best. He also has a double strain of the famous Lord Salisbury, one of the best horses of the Dominion. Lord Dudley was responsible for the foal that was awarded the prize for “ Best Draught Foal ” on the ground at the Te Aroha A.P. & H. Association’s Show last year.
