NOTES AND COMMENTS

A CIRCULAR has been issued by the Manawatu A. and P. Association with respect to a scheme whereby the Government should distribute 10s in the f, of all revenue derived from the totalisator to A. and P, societies which have an annual revenue of £2OO from membership, towards prizes for horses suitable for military purposes. The revenue from the totalisator permits amounts to about £"30,000 per year and would mean among SO societies per year. It is contended that the scheme would be an inducement to farmers to breed military horses.
